Project Overview

We built Restaurant Rodis an online ordering experience powered by WooCommerce, with an easily customizable daily menu and a custom integration that automatically syncs orders to the restaurant's internal kitchen software. This streamlined the entire flow from customer checkout to kitchen processing—no manual re-entry.

Challenge

Make a daily menu that staff can update in minutes and integrate order data with existing kitchen software so tickets appear automatically for preparation.

Solution

Custom WooCommerce product types and admin UI for daily items; webhook/REST bridge that posts sanitized order payloads to the kitchen system with retry, logging, and status callbacks.

Integration & Architecture

Daily Menu Management

  • Custom fields for daily specials, availability windows, and allergens.
  • One-click "Today's Menu" composer with drag-to-reorder sections.
  • Auto-out-of-stock sync at day's end.

Kitchen Software Bridge

  • WooCommerce Webhooks → Payload mapper → Kitchen API.
  • Idempotent retries, error logging, and status callbacks.
  • Order notes show "Sent to Kitchen ✓ / Retry" states for staff.
